NFPA 25 Ch 6.3.1.1 A flow test shall be conducted every 5 year at the hydraulically most remote hose connection of each zone of all standpipe systems

The limbo test

When this sprinkler was damaged luckily the cap did not fully open. The sprinkler sprayed heavily until shut down & replaced

50 years in service means

NFPA 25 5.3.1.1.1 Where sprinklers have been in service for 50 years, they shall be replaced or samples from one or more sample areas shall be tested

FDC backflush

NFPA 25 14.5 All fire dept connections shall be backflushed at full flow at a frequency not to exceed every 5 years

NFPA 25 5.2.1.1.2 Any sprinkler showing the signs of the following shall be replaced 1. Leakage 2. Corrosion 3. Damage 4. Loss of fluid in bulb 5. Loading 6. Paint-Unless by manufacturer
